Data Science

Bringing Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods to challenging customer problems.

Automated Sorting System (Plasti Sort)

Intelligent sorting, fully automated.  Our conveyor-based system uses multiple AI models to classify small parts by color in real time — integrating motors, sensors, and imaging into a single microcontroller-managed platform. 

High Risk Individual Identification System (The Harm Reduction Project)

A deep neural network model developed for an AI company to identify individuals at extreme psychological risk.  Trained on publicly available datasets, the model uncovered previously unknown correlated risk factors, enabling the development of new intervention strategies. 

Universal Data Modeler (Cedalion)

Developed a multi-format deep neural network modeling system capable of ingesting and unifying disparate data sources.  Compatible data types include text, boolean, continuous (numeric), categorical, and temporal formats.  Machine learning methods included decision tree/forest modeling and correlation analysis. 


Fabrication

Supporting customers with in-house fabrication capabilities, including circuit assembly, 3D printing, laser cutting, vacuum forming, and general shop processes.

Tech Support (The Camera Cradle)

Designed and manufactured a support system to elevate phones and tablets above a horizontal surface.  Starting with 3D-printed prototypes, the design evolved into a modular, laser-cut wooden stand — both functional and visually elegant. 

Automated Fan System

A microcontroller-based system developed to remotely manage a battery-powered ventilation fan. The system tracks operating time and run requests to prevent battery depletion. The fan enclosure and electronics housing were 3D printed, with the supporting circuit assembled in-house. 

NEMA Mount (D13)

A custom bracket designed to pole-mount a non-standard NEMA enclosure for long-term outdoor use.  Structural analysis informed the final configuration, with material selection prioritizing weather durability and anti-slip performance.
